3 Medtech Digital Career Choices

Here are 3 fantastic medtech digital career choices to consider.

All are good.

Surgical Robotics

Surgical robotics is headline grabbing and imagination grabbing in the emerging medtech markets. While it has come out of the gate as the lead horse, the nature of the platform will slow its acceleration due to it being a hardware-centric, and a surgically invasive platform. Physical sensor technologies, developing FDA guidance, and large capital requirements will create a friction in the rate of acceleration.

Diagnostic Robotics

Diagnostic robotics are a quiet market for now but will experience the highest rate acceleration of growth in both adoption and dislocation of markets such as ultrasound and radiation related diagnostic procedures. Non-medtech players with robotic and AI expertise entering the market will be a major boost to this market.

Patient Monitoring

Patient monitoring is the quiet juggernaut. Predictive analytics introduced into the market will be an easy leap for reimbursement, adoption, and workflow. Connections to the patient on legacy systems already exist, acquisitions of technologies on a swap out of old school systems is a “no-brainer”. Developing a better performing and more robust “last mile” via a catheter, sensor array, etc will be the biggest challenge, and a small one at that. This is an algorithm / software play and easily scale-able.
