Whether you are an employee, business owner, entrepreneur, leader, or contractor….
There are consequences to every decision we make.

Careers are no different.

All healthy relationships should include ongoing negotiations, friction, tension, and a push-pull dance that manifests itself through communication.

The WFX workforce arrangement is not likely to go away.
It can serve all. The consequences of the arrangement though are beginning to declare themselves.
– There will be new category job descriptions
– Different compensation arrangements.
– Declarations in the market that will appear on resumes and LinkedIn profiles that will state “open to come to office 100%, 50%, 25% of the time” not dissimilar to “open for relocation” and those declarations will be memorialized in offer letters.

The unprecedented run up in salaries will settle in.
– This has been driven by supply and demand, counteroffers, competing offers.
– Specific sectors of the economy are outperforming others and talent is needed and companies are willing to pay for it.

Keep in mind that there are seasons to life.
Be mindful not to move away from one arrangement and over-index towards another. We tend to do that with relationships.

And your work is a relationship.
